The aim of the program prepared for first-cycle philology students is to enable them to acquire practical skills in fluent use of the English language, as well as to expand their knowledge of history, cultural studies, linguistics and literary studies of the English language area. Moreover, students are prepared for further study in translation. This happens thanks to lectures, exercises and seminars devoted to various types of translation. Everyone has a chance to find out which type of translation is closest to them. Interpreting or translation, literary or business, medical or cultural translations - you can try all of this in class. In addition to various types of translations, the student educates, develops and broadens his linguistic and social competences. Throughout the course of study, the student exercises his linguistic flexibility, memory, precision in formulating statements, listening comprehension, improvising skills and many other competences, without which no translator can do. The student has the opportunity to learn about various methods of translator's work as well as traditional tools and those related to modern technologies.
